Greater Things are Yet to Come

As a Church we have just concluded our 21 day Fasting and Prayer. It was such an awesome experience when we not only sacrificed our food, but our time and our sleep as we woke up each morning to be in His presence by 6:30 a.m. This year we not only met at both our church premises in Secunderabad and Kompally, but 13 of our Carecell leaders opened their homes to facilitate people to join them in praying together. Some of them followed the live streaming while others met at a time convenient to all those attending. Some of you who are not part of a Carecell also joined us live from your homes.

Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit each day we chose one particular topic on which to meditate and pray. We as the body of Christ prayed for: our World, Nation, State and City; for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; for healing; deliverance; for those working in Corporate offices; special prayer focus for North East; ministries of the Church, personal revival with a Spiritual Check list; the persecuted church; the need for each of us to be an evangelist and many more as the Spirit lead each day. We prayed especially for the Youth Camp also.

It was heartening to read each day the report of the Carecell leaders meeting in their homes. Some of these groups were as large as 20 to 25 people, while some of them were as small as 3-4 people. What was heartening was that even groups that had attendance of just 2 most days met consistently.

On Republic day, all the Carecells were geared up for the Prayer Walk. We were overwhelmed to see that more than 45 teams set out to different locations in the city. At least 200 areas were covered by the prayers even as they prayed and released God’s Word. Be assured that none of the prayers are going in vain.

A very special day was 27th January when we all gathered at the Kompally Church grounds. It was such an awesome time of praying and singing together as we literally walked in procession on the church land and prayed over the walls of the building under construction. Even as we prayed for every need there, we heard the gentle voice of the Lord telling us, “I will build my Church, on the praises of My people!”

We as a church truly appreciate the enthusiasm, fervor and zeal in obeying the call of God and the leadership of our Church.

The question that many of you may be asking is “WHAT NEXT?” You may probably miss the corporate prayer time we had and the fellowship. But HEY! You don’t have to wait for January 2019 to fast and pray again. Let us make the discipline of fasting a way of life. You can work out a schedule to fast and pray once a week / month. It helps us in our spiritual walk with God.

Fasting and Praying are two powerful weapons in the hands of a child of God. Andrew Murray rightly said, “Prayer is reaching out after the unseen; fasting is letting go of all that is seen and temporal. Fasting helps express, deepen, confirm the resolution that we are ready to sacrifice anything, even ourselves to attain what we seek for the kingdom of God.”

Can we make Fasting and Prayer a way of life, in our Church? I assure you, your life will never be the same, your goals will be different, your priorities will change and you will be a victorious Christian.

We have sown the seed with much prayer and fasting and be encouraged that we are going to reap a rich harvest! All Glory to God!
